Lonsdale St Cyclery Offroad Duathlon Race 3
Date: Sunday 26 August 2001
Location: Deek's Forest Reserve, off Uriarra Rd
Registration: From 10am at race site
The race start is at Deek's Forest Reserve off Uriarra Rd - the same place the Jogalong starts.
Novice race (2km run, 9km MTB, 2km run) starts at 11am.
The run will be on fire tracks and forest trails.
The bike leg will be mostly fire trails with a little non-technical singletrack - 2 laps of a 4.5km loop.
The same run will then be repeated.
Long race (2km run, 8km MTB, 2km run, 8km MTB, 2km run) starts at 12 noon.
The run will be on fire tracks and forest trails, the same as the short race.
The bike leg will be a mix of fire trails and single track. There will be a few technical obstacles (e.g. short rocky sections,
the old concrete crossing over the river, log ramps), but mostly smooth flowing singletrack. Don't be put off! You may need to
dismount once or twice if you're not confident, but if this is your introduction to offroad racing you'll love it.
The run course will then be repeated, then the bike course again, finally the run is repeated to finish.
