2000/2001 Novice Triathlon Series - Race 4 [Final race of the series]

There are races on the Triathlon ACT calendar after this race suitable for Novice racers. A short race has been designed for the Final Fling - check out the details in the race information section of the website. The All Women's race is also suitable for Novice racers. The Lonsdale Street Cyclery draw will take place after the race. Participants in the first race received a $10 Lonsdale Street Cyclery voucher. Those who have redeemed their voucher by Friday, 23 February will be placed in the draw for the AVANTI Road Bike worth over $1,000.

The ACT Cancer Society draw will take place after the race. The lucky winner of the competition will take win a balloon ride over Canberra for two people. To be eligible turn up to the race with your face and/or body painted in zinc. The person with the craziest face will win the prize. You do not need to be competing to win this prize!

The team from All Bar Nun will be serving beverages after the race, so stick around the barrel draws and enjoy their hospitality. The Junior parents will also have the BBQ fired up!

RACE DATE: Saturday, 24 February 2001

RACE VENUE: Acton Ferry, Lake Burley Griffin

DISTANCE: 300m swim/8km cycle/2km run

COST: Race entry is $25. Non-members are required to purchase a One-Day-Race-Licence [insurance] for $5. Participants entering on the day will pay a $5 late entry fee.

PAYMENT: Fax your entry form to the Triathlon ACT office with you credit card details, mail your entry form with a cheque, or on the day pay by cash, cheque or credit. Please do not send cash in the mail.

ENTRIES CLOSE: 5.00pm Thursday, 22 February 2001. Entries faxed to the office after this time will not be included in pre-entry registration.

LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be accepted on the day with an additional $5.00 late entry fee

REGISTRATION: Saturday, 24 February between 2.30pm and 3.45pm at the Race site

RACE START TIME: 4.00pm

COURSE DETAILS: Start from Transition Compound, along Barrine Dr, left into Albert St, left onto Commonwealth Ave, left onto down ramp into Parkes Way. Along Parkes Way, left onto Lady Denman down ramp, right at the bottom onto Clunies Ross, under the bridge, right back up onto Parkes Way. Continue back along Parkes Way, under the Commonwealth Ave Bridge, left up the ramp onto Commonwealth Ave Bridge, across the bridge, first left down onto Flynn Dr, continue left under the bridge once again, left back up onto the bridge, across the bridge back towards the city, 1st left off the bridge back into Albert St, right back into Barrine Dr, along to Transition Compound.
