2001/2002 TACT Triathlon Series Race 2

TACT RACE 2 - ACT OLYMPIC DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
(incorporating the Australian University Triathlon Championships)

RACE DATE: Sunday, 2 December 2001

RACE VENUE: Acton Ferry Terminal

DISTANCE: 1500m/40km/10km

ENTRIES CLOSE: 5.00pm on Thursday, 29 November 2001

LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be accepted with an additional $5.00 late entry fee

ELITE RACE: The course will be the same, but drafting will be permitted (elites will be the first two waves). ITU rules will apply including water temperature cut-off (20 degrees) for wetsuit use and no aero-bars beyond the brake levers. Prize money will be paid for 1st ($200), 2nd ($100) and 3rd ($75) with the cut-off time for prize eligibility 5% for men and 8% for women. Elites must pay a $10 premium at registration.

Competitors wishing to race elite must meet the selection criteria.

RACE BRIEFING: 6:50am

RACE START TIME: 7.00am

2 loop swim
2 loop cycle (37km)

• from race site along Barrine Dr
• left into Albert St
• left onto Commonwealth Ave
• left down ramp onto Parkes Way
• continue on Parkes Way into Tuggeranong Parkway
• left on exit to Cotter Rd
• left into Cotter Rd
• straight ahead through roundabout at Lady Denman Drive
• left onto Dudley St
• straight ahead through roundabout at Novar St
• onto Adelaide Ave
• left onto State Circle
• left into Flynn Dr
• right at roundabout into Coronation Dr
• left onto Commonwealth Ave
• over Commonwealth Bridge
• ride past Albert St

  REPEAT COURSE AS ABOVE

• at end of second lap, left into Albert St
• right into Barrine Dr
• return to race site

2 lap run [out & back]
