After rain during the week, the course was surprisingly in perfect condition - fast and grippy. The long race was a similar course to the previous race, with the addition of sections of singletrack known as "Jelly Beans" and "Bondi" which are fast and flowing.
Dave Osmond wasn't threatened this time, with the absence of Adrian Sheppard overseas and Paul Smith. Local MTB rider Paul Atyeo showed his consistency and ever-improving run form, taking second place. Top local runner Dave Quayle, returning from injury, made a great debut to offroad racing in third place.
In the women's race, last year's series winner Julie Quinn took line honours, with her superior bike skills setting up a comfortable margin going into the last run. Top local orienteer Belinda Allison was second, with evergreen Adair Ferguson taking third place.
