Sponsors and Supporters
Triathlon ACT has close links with the ACT community, and has close relationships with our sponsors and supporters. Association Partnership The ACT Government through Sport & Recreation ACT's Operational Program has continued to be our major sponsor, and in 2002 we were fortunate to receive an increase in funding as a result of continued organisational improvements. Sport & Recreation ACT manages the ACT Government's involvement in sport and recreation. Its roles and responsibilities include sport and recreation development and managing the ACT Academy of Sport. The Bureau believes everyone in our community should be encouraged to access sport, recreation and fitness opportunities, for a healthy active lifestyle
CPS Credit Union is committed to the development of triathlon with a particular focus on juniors. CPS provide cash sponsorship to organise our events, and provide an event opportunity for school aged children, along with other junior activities such as development clinics and programs.
Hog's Breath Cafe is proud to be associated with Triathlon ACT as sponsor of the novice series for the next three years. Promotional Support TACT has various businesses providing promotional support: Ryders eyewear, Runner's Shop, Ian Ingram Massage Therapy and Adrenalin+. The Runners Shop was established in 1990 and is now widely regarded as one of, if not the, best running and triathlon specialist stores in Australia. They are much more than just a retail outlet - and are the centre of running in Canberra. In addition to having a tremendous range of shoes, apparel and accessories, they provide an information centre with entry forms, calendars, newsletters and publications. The Runners Shop (Dundas Court, Phillip) provide barrel draw prizes and vouchers for the TACT Duathlon Series.
Adrenalin+ donated a snowboard worth over $700 to give away at the 2002 Winter Kids Duathlon Series. This was promoted at our school visits, and was highly successful in promoting the Adrenalin+ store to school children. Adrenalin+ has continued their support of Triathlon ACT, by providing an awesome pair of rollerblades for the 2002-03 CPS Kids Series. These will be given away at the CPS Kids Race #3, and all participants over the three races will enter the draw. Adrenalin+ sell a wide range of gear including snowboards, rollerblades, skateboards and awesome clothing. They are located in the city opposite the Casino. Ian Ingram has been massaging triathletes since 1996. He supports TACT by providing barrel prizes for hour long massage sessions and is sometimes seen at triathlons doing massage or a swim leg in a team. Ian has studied relaxation and remedial massage and Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques ( cupping, acupressure, Shiatsu, Tuina, Herbal medicine) for assisting athletes in their performance and recovery between races and training sessions. For a massage appointment with Ian telephone: 6251 8199.
